Our next Practitioners Training & Practicum offers an exciting opportunity to work with Equi-Tape® developer Dr. Beverly Gordon along with several guest presenters is now available to a limited number of prescreened candidates. Course Registration is limited and is on a first come, first enrolled basis!
Topics covered will include taping techniques and applications, assessments, considerations, and taping protocols (see course outline below). The course will prepare you to successfully integrate Equi-Taping™ into your training, rehab and prevention management programs.
This is an Equi-Taping™ Certification Course. CETP Certification to become a Certified Equi-Taping™ Practitioner will be awarded at the successful completion of an online exam and corresponding case studies.

Introduction: Overview Elastic Kinesiology Tape: Dr. Beverly Gordon
General information, history, differences from other tapes, what it does, how it works, and benefits. What is Equi-Tape®? Pertinent information regarding tape construction, development, and crossover from human athletics will be presented. A pictorial overview!
9:00 – 9:30
Anatomy and Related Taping Directives: Dr. Kara Spillman
A general understanding of basic equine anatomy and principle taping directives regarding structure and movement will be covered.
9:30 – 10:15
Equi-Taping™ Methods and Strategies: Dr. Beverly Gordon
Covers the five (5) essential Equi-Taping™ Application Guidelines including Assessment, Taping Objective, Application Goals, Techniques, and Considerations. Specific attention will be given to Therapeutic and Athletic Training Objectives and the Application Goals and Techniques in support of those Objectives. Basic principles with regard to working with and handling the tape will be discussed including how to cut and prepare the tape for maximum benefit as well as basic taping protocols such as stretch, direction of application, and patterns and cuts.

Topics discussed will include integrating Equi-Taping™ services into your practice. Guidelines for establishing an appropriate fee structure. Taping challenges related to weather, coat condition, location of application, adhesiveness and other related topics will be discussed.

CASE STUDY 1 – Review & Discussion
Course attendees will be given an assessment and they will be asked to determine the best Taping Objective supported by an Application Goal.
